USC's Karlee Freeman, Summer Mosley Have Big Days At The Triton Invitational

Karlee Freeman had the top collegiate mark and established a new personal best in the discus throw and Summer Mosley also had a PR to join Freeman on USC's all-time top 10 list in the women's discus throw at the Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego in San Diego, Calif. today (April 8). 

  • Freeman placed sixth in the women's invitational discus throw with a personal best of 185-8 (56.61m).  Her mark was the best among the collegians in the competition and bettered her fourth-place standing on USC's all-time list in the event. It is already the second time this season she has improved upon her personal best in the event.
  • Mosley ended her day by taking third in the women's open discus competition with a  big PR  of 169-2 (51.58m) to move into eighth place on USC"s all-time discus throw list.
  • Mosley began her day by placing fifth in the women's invitational hammer throw with a mark of 184-0 (56.10m).  That throw came in her final attempt and moved her from sixth to fifth in the competition.   Joy McArthur had fouls in her first three attempts and did not advance to the final.

The Trojans' track and field team will be back at it at the Triton Invitational tomorrow beginning at 11:30 a.m.
