TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Women's Track and Field won the Jim Click Shootout and Multis with 156.50 points, while the men place second with 111 points.
Day Three Highlights
In throws, Mackenna Orie started the competition with a third-place finish in the discus throw with a PR of 51.92m (170'-4"). She earned another third-place finish in the shot put, throwing a mark of 16.23m (53'-3"), while Samantha Noennig took first with a shot put throw of 17.56m (57'-7.5").
Youssef Koudssi threw two personal bests for two third place finishes in the discus and the shot put with respective marks of 54.06m (177'-4") and 17.85m (58'-6.75"). Jared O'Riley took home his first event win of the season in the javelin with a PR throw of 66.98m (219'-9"). Jakob Chamberlin rounded out the day with his own PR and top three finish in the hammer throw, throwing for 64.34m (211'-1").
The jumping squad brought their best in the second home meet of the season. Women's high jump swept the podium with Lillian Lowe winning the event with a jump of 1.83m, followed by Talie Bonds with a PR of 1.83m and Alexa Porpaczy with a mark of 1.75m. Jenica Bosko added to the long list of PRs with a third-place finish in the long jump with a PR of 5.90m.
Reinaldo Rodrigues won the men's long jump with a mark of 7.65m with another Wildcat, Razeen Khaldun, earning a PR to place in second with a jump of 7.25m. Tanner Kippes vaulted himself into second place with a height of 5.00m.
In sprints, Neysia Howard showed off her speed by tying her PR in the 100m dash with a time of 11.55 and followed that performance with a third-place PR in the 200m dash of 23.43.
Anna Foreman ran for her own PR in her second-place performance in the 400m dash with a time of 53.85. Shannon Meisberger took home the win in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.69.
Johnnie Mitchell placed top-five in the 1500m run with a 4:38.57, while Alisa Lyesina supplied her own PR in the 800m run with a fourth-place time of 2:07.90.
The women's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams put up season-best performances with times of 44.95 (3rd) and 3:37.86 (2nd). Both men's relay teams placed third overall with a season-best time in the 4x100m relay with a time of 39.90 and a 4x400m time of 3:09.64.
The Cats will compete next weekend at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. From Wednesday until Saturday.
