Nikki Zaccaro Sets Cal’s Career Games Played Record
TEMPE – Nikki Zaccaro became Cal's all-time leader for games played on Sunday when the fifth-year senior suited up for her 76th career game in a Cal uniform in a 18-10 Pac-12 road loss to Arizona State at the Sun Devil Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium. Zaccaro contributed a team-high five points on two goals and three assists. Both of her goals came on free position shots as she made two of the three she attempted.
"It's been an honor to represent Cal over the last five years," said Zaccaro, who had previously shared the record with Ella Annest (2017-21). "I am so proud to have been able to put on the jersey and play alongside my teammates in 76 games."
"Nikki has been a staple in the Cal offense for her entire career," head coach Brooke Eubanks added. "It's fitting to have her break our career games played record because it represents the way she impacts our team – consistently and pivotally."
Arizona State led from wire-to-wire in Sunday's contest with the Sun Devils taking a 6-1 lead after the first quarter and an 11-4 advantage at halftime that they extended to 15-6 after three quarters.
Liz Scott had a team-high three goals including a successful conversion of her only free position and added a fourth point on an assist to lead Cal's offense. Maya Lawliss matched Zaccaro's two goals and also had an assist. Olivia Dey, Kennedy Mason and Amanda Morse each had one goal, while Quinnlyn Mason registered an assist.
Emily Glagolev had a game-high four goals on only five shots for the Sun Devils, while Carley Adams had a game-high six points on one goal and a game-high five assists. Emily Munro, Taylor Pinzone, Mina Scott and Zoe Mazur each added a pair of goals with Munro and Mazur also picking up an assist apiece. Katie Brodsky, Kaylon Buckner, Kylie Kroeger, Anna Thornton and Maria Villanti all had a single goal with Brodsky adding two assists. Maddy Hunter, Tess Keiser and Tate Stokesberry each had a single assist as the Sun Devils were credited with 12 assists on their 18 goals.
