STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 3 UCLA softball team was shutout, 1-0, by Stanford in the rubber match of the three-game series at Boyd & Jill Smith Family Stadium on Sunday.

Delanie Wisz led the Bruins (32-5, 10-2 Pac-12) with her 2-for-3 day as she extended her reached-base streak to 28 games. Also notching hits were Briana Perez and Maya Brady.

The Cardinal (26-10, 5-4 Pac-12) recorded two of their hits with a pair of doubles in the third inning to take a 1-0 lead they would not surrender for the rest of the game. Alana Vawter went the distance and struck out five UCLA batters.

Lauren Shaw was credited with her second loss of the season after surrendering one earned run and striking out five Stanford batters. Megan Faraimo pitched three shutout innings in relief and struck out three.

Wisz was the only UCLA batter to record a hit in all three games of the series. She now leads the Bruins with a .404 batting average this season.

The Bruins return to Easton Stadium in nine days for their next contest versus San Diego on April 19 at 5 p.m. PT.
