Jazmine Hill Earns Pac-12 Player Of The Week Honor

Apr 11, 2022

SAN FRANCISCO– Junior outfielder Jazmine Hill has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week after compiling three home runs and seven RBIs this past weekend in a series sweep for Sun Devil Softball over No. 14 Oregon this past weekend.

Hill hit her first career two-home run game Saturday night which included three RBIs, going three for four and leading the Sun Devils to score nine unanswered runs to earn the team's 16th straight win.

"Jaz continues to work on her game and thrives in pressure situations," head coach Trisha Ford said. "She had a great weekend and came up with some big time hits and when we needed it. Her award is well deserved and a honor for Jaz, but now it's time to get back to work."

She would later follow up her Saturday performance by hitting her first career grand slam on a wet Sunday afternoon with four RBIs, helping the Sun Devil Softball sweep their third straight Pac-12 series and earning their 17th straight win to lead them atop of the Pac-12 standings.

Hill is batting .354 and tied her career-high in home runs with 10 on the season. She has 32 RBIs and has started every game for the maroon and gold in centerfield.

She is the fourth Sun Devil to earn a Pac-12 honor this season, and the second Sun Devil to earn Pac-12 player of the week. Yannira Acuña was the first Sun Devil to earn Pac-12 player of the week after a series sweep against Arizona on March 28.
