Huskies Host No. 19 Oregon State For Pac-12 Matchup

SEATTLE – The No. 11 Washington softball program welcomes No. 19 Oregon State for a Pac-12 matchup at Husky Softball Stadium, Thursday through Saturday.
 
The first game of the weekend is set for a 5 p.m. first pitch on Thursday night. Friday's game is set for 6 p.m. and the Saturday series finale at 2 p.m. All three game will be available on Pac-12 Networks.
 
PLAIN AND SIMPLE
Gabbie Plain continues to rewrite the Husky record books in her fifth and final year. This season, she ranks third with 113 strikeouts in the Pac-12. The Australian native is fourth in the nation with six shutouts. She earned Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honors for the first two weeks of the 2022 season. Plain is 29 strikeouts away from 1,000 career K's.
 
KLINGLER IS CLUTCH
Senior Baylee Klingler hit her fourth grand slam of the season in game two at No. 19 Arizona to give the Huskies the go-ahead runs in the seventh inning. In the game, the Houston native hit two homers, her fourth multi-home run game of the season. Klingler has four career grand slams. The Husky softball program record is five.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Huskies went down to then-No. 19 Arizona and won their first Pac-12 series of the season, 2-1. Washington took the first two games of the series, before dropping game three.
 
TOUGH SCHEDULE
Washington has compiled a tough schedule thus far. In the first 33 games, the Huskies have faced nine Top 25 opponents and hold a record of 6-8. 
 
Four of the five remaining series will see the Huskies face current USA Today/NFCA Top 25 opponents in: No. 19 Oregon State (4/14-16), at No. 17 Oregon (4/22-24), No. 24 Stanford (4/29-5/1) and No. 10 Arizona State (5/12-14).
 
ALL-TIME VERSUS OREGON STATE
The Huskies lead the all-time series versus Oregon State, 70-23. In the four-game series last season in Corvallis, Washington won 3-of-4 versus the Beavers.
 
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Oregon State sits at 31-9 on the season with a 7-5 mark in Pac-12 play. The Beavers are led at the plate by Frankie Hammounde with a .408 average and 11 home runs in 35 games. Sarah Haendiges and Mariah Mazon lead the way in the circle with 10 and 12 wins, respectively. The Beavers pitching staff holds a 1.90 ERA collectively, which is second in the Pac-12 and fifth nationally. Haendiges has recorded seven shutouts on the season.
