Men’s Golf Treks To Phoenix For Two-Day Event

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team is headed to Phoenix to participate in the two-day Thunderbird Collegiate Friday and Saturday. The tournament is hosted by Arizona State.
Oregon State played in the tournament in 2021, placing fifth in a 17-team field. Carson Barry, Jackson Lake and Nolan Thoroughgood, who are slated to compete starting Friday, took part in last year's event. Barry finished in a tie for sixth with a 10-under 203.
Lake finished in a tie for 11th at last week's Redhawk Invitational in Seattle, which turned into only 18 holes of competition after the first day's action was wiped out due to rain and wind.
FIELD (15): Oregon State, Arizona State, Baylor, Boise State, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, San Francisco, SMU, South Florida, Texas Tech, UCLA, UNLV and Utah.
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-71, 7,319-yard Papago Golf Club.
BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State's lineup will consist of Mateo Fuenmayor, Carson Barry, Jackson Lake, Brandon Eyre and Nolan Thoroughgood.
FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes on Friday and 18 on Saturday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: The tournament will run via tee times Friday and a shotgun start Saturday. Both days are slated to get underway at 7 a.m. PT.
