Utah to compete in NCAA gymnastics semifinals on Thursday

SAN FRANCISCO - After posting a postseason school-record (198.200) to win the Seattle Regional, No. 4 Utah has advanced to a record 46th-consecutive national championship. Five Pac-12 student-athletes have also advanced to the NCAA championships after qualifying in their respective individual events.

The Red Rocks will be heading to Fort Worth to compete in the first semifinal of the 2022 NCAA championships on April 14 against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 5 Alabama and No. 8 Minnesota, which will begin at 10 a.m. PT on ESPN2. The top two teams from each semifinal will advance to the championship final on Saturday, April 16, which will begin at 10 a.m. PT on ABC.

  • Utah is the only program in the nation to qualify for every national championship, including all 40 NCAA Championships since 1982.
  • Utah has won 33 regional titles (30 NCAA), while finishing second in the regionals the other 13 years. 
  • The Red Rocks have hit the 198-mark four times this season, which is the most in program history in a single season. 
  • They now have five perfect scores on beam this season, which is the most all-time in a single season. 
  • The Utes have won nine NCAA championships and 10 total national titles (1981 AIAW), while finishing as the NCAA runner-up eight times.
  • Pac-12 programs have won 16 NCAA women's gymnastics titles all-time (Utah - 9; UCLA - 7), the second-most among all conferences.
