Arizona Takes Down Oregon, 11-8

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 25 Arizona (22-14, 3-10 Pac-12) defeated No. 17 Oregon (24-12, 4-9 Pac-12) 11-8 to open the series on Thursday.
 
The Cats scored 11 runs on 11 hits, with 11 RBI. Three Wildcats – Paige Dimler, Izzy Pacho, and Allie Skaggs – hit home runs to push Arizona to the series-opening win.
 
Izzy Pacho went 3-for-4, with two RBI and a home run – a two-RBI shot to secure the win for Arizona. Jasmine Perezchica went 2-for-3 with one RBI and Paige Dimler hit her fifth homer of the season – a three-RBI shot – and had four RBI in the win.
 
Oregon opened the game with four runs on two home runs in the first inning. Arizona scored two runs in the bottom of the first on a two-RBI home run from Skaggs – her 11th of the season.
 
The Ducks added one more run in the third to take a 5-2 lead. Arizona tied the game in the fifth inning on Dimler's three-RBI homer and plated two more runs on a pair of RBI singles to go up 7-5.
 
Dimler hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to extend Arizona's lead to 8-5. Oregon regained the lead in the top of the sixth with an RBI double and a two-RBI home run.
 
The Wildcats answered Oregon's three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the final lead of the game. Carlie Scupin had an RBI double to take the one-run lead and Pacho hit her two-RBI home run to add insurance for Arizona.
 
Devyn Netz (9-5) picked up the win for the Cats. Hanah Bowen earned her first save of the season when she re-entered in the seventh to close out the game.
