CAL WRAPS UP REGULAR-SEASON ROAD SCHEDULE AT UC DAVIS SATURDAY
— Cal visits UC Davis on Saturday for a non-conference tilt in its final regular-season road game
— Saturday's contest is the second of two scheduled meetings between Cal and UC Davis in 2022 with UC Davis a 16-5 winner in Berkeley the first time the clubs met February 26
— Cal has a 14-11 all-time record against UC Davis but the Aggies have been victorious in each of the last five meetings in the series with the most recent Cal win a 16-13 decision in Berkeley on Feb. 22, 2019
— UC Davis has also won each of the last three contests in Davis with Cal's last road victory in the series on Feb. 9, 2018
— Cal has the top winning streak in the series with eight straight victories from Apr. 21, 2001 through March 8, 2009
— Saturday's forecast in Davis calls for AM showers, a high temperature of 67 degrees and a low of 38, and winds out of the south at 13 miles per hour
ZACCARO NOW CAL'S CAREER LEADER IN GAMES PLAYED AND ASSISTS
— Fifth-year senior Nikki Zaccaro has broken Cal career records for both games played and assists in 2022 with current totals of 76 and 89
— Zaccaro is also Cal's active career leader in games started (65), goals (66), points (155), shots (201) and shots on goal (131)
BIG WIN FOR THE BEARS
— There was electricity in the air at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium on April 1 for the Cal Lacrosse Youth Inclusion & Awareness Game and the Golden Bears sent a season-high crowd of 598 home happy with a hard-fought 14-12 Pac-12 victory over Oregon that is Cal's lone win of the 2022 season
SCOTT LEADING THE OFFENSE
— Liz Scott leads Cal in goals (35), points (43), shots (77) and shots on goal (56)
— Scott has had multiple-goal games in eight of her last nine contests including career highs of seven goals and nine points against Arizona State on March 20 that equaled all-time Cal single-game records and a career-high three assists in Cal's April 1 win over Oregon
LAWLISS COMING ON STRONG
— Maya Lawliss is second on Cal behind only Liz Scott in nearly every major offensive category including goals (27), points (34), shots (56) and shots on goal (49), while her seven assists are third
— Lawliss has scored at least one goal in each of Cal's last 11 games including multiple goals in eight of those contests after not scoring a goal in any of the first four contests of the campaign
GOSS GOOD AT DRAW CONTROLS
— Kennedy Goss leads Cal with 59 draw controls to rank seventh on the Golden Bears' all-time single-season list and has moved to within 22 of the school's all-time single-season record of 81 set by Eliza Christman in 2019
VRANICAR MAKING LARGE IMPACT AS 2022 SENIOR
— After having played 20 games with one start over her first three seasons, Mckenna Vranicar has played in and started all 15 games as a 2021 senior, while contributing 13 of her 15 career ground balls and 15 of her 17 caused turnovers, as well as all three of her draw controls
STRONG SCHEDULE
— Ten of Cal's first 15 games have been against seven teams in the IWLCA/Inside Lacrosse Top 25 at some point in 2022 with six of those teams (No. 9 Denver, No. 15 Virginia, No. 17 USC, No. 21 Stanford, No. 23 Arizona State, No. 24 Navy) currently in the poll while Colorado has also been in this season
— Cal has already played Arizona State, Colorado and USC twice and has one regular-season game remaining against a team currently in the poll in No. 21 Stanford
