This weekend, the Utah men's tennis team returns to the George S. Eccles Center to host No. 15 USC and No. 53 UCLA. These are the last matches of the regular season. Utah will honor its lone senior, Mathias Gavelin, on Sunday against UCLA. These will be the tenth straight match against ranked opponents this weekend.
The Utes will honor Gavelin after doubles on Sunday against the Bruins.

UTAH IN THE POLL
The ITA Team National Rankings were announced on Wednesday. Utah came in at No. 32. The ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Men's Team Rankings feature the nation's Top 75 teams.
ITA PLAYER RANKINGS
The ITA Division I Men's Rankings came out on Wednesday. The doubles team of Franco Capalbo and Geronimo Espin Busleiman came in ranked 33rd. The pair is 18-1 on the season with wins over then-No. 17 and then-No. 32 double teams. Capalbo and Espin Busleiman have won nine of their last ten matches. Espin Busleiman joins the singles rankings and is ranked 111th. This spring, he is 16-1 in singles play.
SENIOR WEEKEND
This weekend, the Utes will honor their lone senior, Mathias Gavelin. Gavelin, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, is a four-year member of the Utah men's tennis team. He has won 63 singles matches in his career, with 16 matches coming in his first and second years at Utah. Please join us on Sunday between singles and doubles to help us honor Mathias.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE UTES
The team had a decisive win during their match against ASU this past weekend. After losing the doubles point and a singles match, putting themselves down 2-0, Utah responded and won four straight singles matches to win the match against the Sun Devils. Mathias Gavelin and Bruno Caula picked up the first two wins of the day for the Utes. Bruno Krenn won 6-4, 7-5 in No. 5 singles giving the Utes the lead. Geronimo Espin Busleiman clinched the win for the Utes winning, 6-4, 7-6 (4) over Fabien Salle. The match moved the Utes to 19-5 on the season.
MOST WINS IN PAC-12 PLAY
The Utes have won three matches in Pac-12 play this season. The three wins are the most wins the program has had since joining the Pac-12 in 2011.
SCOUTING USC
The Trojans of USC enter this weekend with a 17-5 record and are 6-1 in Pac-12 play. The team comes in ranked No. 15 in the latest ITA team rankings and has three players and a doubles team ranked. Stefan Dostanic is standing tall at #4 in the nation. He is joined by #49 Peter Makk and #99 Lodewijk Weststrate on the list. USC has Dostanic and Frye now standing at #12 in the land in doubles. The Trojans have won its last six matches, and their last loss came on March 20 when Arizona defeated USC, 4-3. Dostanic is a perfect 13-0 in singles this spring and has won 15 straight matches. Ryan Colby leads the team with 15 wins this spring.
SCOUTING UCLA
The Utes' final home match will be against the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins come into the weekend with the Utes with a 9-10 overall record and a 2-3 mark in conference play. UCLA will play at Weber State on Friday before playing the Utes on Sunday. The Bruins come into this week ranked No. 53rd in the ITA Team rankings. UCLA's Alexander Hoogmartens is ranked No. 26 in singles, and the Bruins have three doubles teams that are ranked, led by Hoogmartens and Bryce Pereira, who are ranked No. 55. Giacomo Revelli leads the team this spring with ten wins, while Hoogmartens follows with nine. UCLA is 1-7 when playing on the road this season, with their lone win coming at Oregon on April 3.
BEST START IN PROGRAM HISTORY
The Utes opened the season 16-0, which is the best start in program history. The previous school record was 11-0, which was set during the 2015-16 season.
