Apr 16, 2022

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 25 Arizona scored five runs in the fourth inning to pull away from No. 17 Oregon, 12-4, Saturday at Hillenbrand Stadium.
The Ducks made it a one-run game by scoring three times in the top of the fourth before the Wildcats opened things up.
How it Happened: Arizona (23-15, 4-11) scored three times on two home runs in the first inning and the Wildcats threatened again with a leadoff double in the second, but Makenna Kliethermes came on in relief of Stevie Hansen in and retired the next three batters to keep it a 3-0 Arizona lead.
The Wildcats added another run in the third before Oregon (25-13, 5-10) closed the gap with three runs in the top of the fourth.
Ariel Carlson lined a single off the shortstop's glove and Allison Benning followed with her second double of the game. Paige Sinicki's sacrifice fly plated Carlson from third. Hanna Delgado then hit a two-run home run that cleared the batter's eye high in centerfield to make it 4-3 Wildcats.
Arizona answered with five runs in the bottom of the fourth and added three more in the fifth.
Terra McGowan hit her second home run of the series in the top of the fifth for Oregon.
