Two Wins

Apr 16, 2022

DEXTER, Ore. – No. 10 Stanford men's rowing won two races against No. 18 Oregon State Saturday, racing the Beavers at the Collegiate Covered Bridge Regatta on Dexter Lake.

"We went back to the drawing board a bit after last weekend and came up with some different lineups for the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight boats this weekend," said head coach Ted Sobolewski. "I am hopeful the changes give us room to build speed over the next few weeks and into the championship portion of the season. I thought the racing today was a really good first step in that process."

The Cardinal started its day with a 10-second victory in the 2V8 race over the Beavers, finishing with a time of 6:07.90. Stanford finished its efforts Saturday with an even stronger race, finishing with a 12-second margin over Oregon State's V8 boat.

Stanford finishes its regular season April 30, racing in the Big Row against No. 1 California at Redwood Shores.
