LOS ANGELES – The No. 53 UCLA men's tennis team closed out its regular season Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of UC San Diego at Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Bruins earned two 4-0 wins to improve their overall record to 12-11.

Stefan Leustian earned the clinching victory in each match. Jeffrey Fradkin – who prevailed on the dual-match singles courts for the first times in his college career – and Patrick Zahraj were also triumphant twice on the singles courts. Karl Lee also picked up a singles win. The Tritons dropped to 4-21 with the losses.

UCLA will begin Pac-12 Championships play Thursday, as the tournament's No. 5 seed, against fourth-seeded Utah. The teams will square off at 9 a.m. PT. Libbey Park in Ojai, Calif. will be home to all matches on the men's side.

The Bruins made a statement to start the initial match, with the pairs of Fradkin/Bryce Pereira and Zahraj/Giacomo Revelli each posting 6-1 wins to secure the doubles point. Fradkin and Pereira beat Eric Silberman and Joseph Teh on Court 2, while Zahraj and Revelli knocked off William Lan and Daniel Traxler on Court 1 to clinch the point.

Zahraj also dealt Traxler a loss in singles play, dispatching of his counterpart on the top court by a 6-1, 6-3 margin. Fradkin then started his standout day with a convincing effort versus Sahm Irvine, 6-0, 6-2 on Court 5. Leustian sealed the deal with a pair of 6-2 sets opposite Jett Cole on Court 4.

The second match began with singles play and Fradkin again raced out to a straight-set win. This time, he bested Eric Silberman with a 6-1, 6-2 result on Court 5 to get UCLA on the board. Next off was Zahraj, who took care of business against Zach Ermert on the top court, cruising to a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Karl Lee, who had his first match abandoned just shy of victory, rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 showing against Sanjith Devineni in his first-career college appearance on the second singles court. Finally, Leustian ensured doubles play would not be needed, taking down Charles Qian with a 6-4, 6-0 performance on Court 4.
