Spitz Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES – Junior Emma Spitz of the women's golf team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for April 12 – April 18.
 
Spitz captured the third victory of her career and helped the Bruins to their first team victory of the season in rainy and windy conditions at Chambers Bay Invitational last Tuesday. She was the only golfer in the 107-player field to finish under par at 1-under 215 (68-70-77).
 
Spitz, the No. 11-ranked collegiate golfer in the nation (Golfstat), is now averaging a team-best 71.8 strokes per round and leads the Bruins with 11 under-par rounds and four under-par tournament finishes this season. Three of Spitz's four top-10 placings have come in her last three competitions.
 
It's the second-career Student-Athlete of the Week award for Spitz and her first of the season.
