Klingler Among 25 Finalists for Player of the Year
SEATTLE – Baylee Klingler has been named one of 25 finalists for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, the organization announced on Wednesday. Klingler is one of the five Pac-12 players to make the list this season that was voted on by a panel of media members and coaches.
This season, Klingler leads the Pac-12 and is third nationally with 18 home runs. The senior's .457 batting average ranks ninth and her 55 RBI is the second-most in the NCAA. Klingler's 1.043 slugging percentage ranks second in the nation.
Klingler has written her name in the Husky record book with career Top 10 numbers in batting average (.443), home runs (39), slugging percentage (.869), on base percentage (.514), and grand slams (4).
The 25 finalists for Collegiate Player of the Year will be narrowed to 10 players on May 4. The three finalists will be announced on May 18, with the winner of the award revealed prior to the Women's College World Series.
