Men's Tennis Heads to Pac-12 Championships
This week, the Utes will head to the West Coast to begin the Pac-12 Championships hosted at Libbey Park. Matches will start on Wednesday, where the 8th and 9th seeds will face each other. Fourth-seed Utah will face fifth-seed UCLA for a second time on Thursday, April 21, at 10 a.m. MT.

UTAH IN THE POLL
The ITA Team National Rankings were announced on Wednesday. Utah came in at No. 33. The ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Men's Team Rankings feature the nation's Top 75 teams.
ITA PLAYER RANKINGS
The ITA Division I Men's Rankings came out on Wednesday. The doubles team of Franco Capalbo and Geronimo Espin Busleiman came in ranked 26th. The pair is 18-2 on the season with wins over then-No. 17 and then-No. 32 double teams. Capalbo and Espin Busleiman have won nine of their last ten matches. Espin Busleiman joins the singles rankings and is ranked 98th. This spring, he is 16-1 in singles play.
SPRING SEASON IN A BREEZE
Utah has had a very successful spring season. The squad finished the season with a 20-6 record overall, improving from last season's 18-12. Before the beginning of the spring season, Utah sent Franco Capalbo and Geronimo Espin Busleiman to the ITA Fall Nationals.
The team started the spring season with the longest winning streak in the program's history, going undefeated for 16 straight matches. With an impressive record, the Utes' No. 1 doubles team consisting of Franco Capalbo and Geronimo Espin Busleiman are, ranked 26th. They also had an outstanding 18-2 overall record and a 4-1 conference record for the

team with 14 wins.
UTES IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Utah competed in the 2021 Pac-12 Championships as the No. 8 seed and concluded the season with a 2-5 conference record. In consolation play, the Utes fell to Arizona in the first round and later to Oregon. The team looks to repeat its victory over UCLA to advance in the championships this week.
This season, the Utes enter the championship as the fourth seed, the highest seed in program history. Utah won four conference matches during the regular-season, which also was the most in program history.
MOST WINS IN PAC-12 PLAY
The Utes have won four matches in Pac-12 play this season. The four wins are the most wins the program has had since joining the Pac-12 in 2011.
UCLA heads into the Pac-12 Championships with a record of 12-11 on the year and a ranking of 46th in the ITA Team Ranking. After falling to the Utes on Sunday, the Bruins ran off three straight wins to enter the championships. UCLA has two singles players ranked, Alexander Hoogmartens (No. 30) and Patrick Zahraj (No. 75), along with three doubles teams, Hoogmarens/Bryce Pereira (No. 63), Drew Baird/Hoogmartens (No. 66), Pereira/Zahraj (No.77).
BEST START IN PROGRAM HISTORY
The Utes opened the season 16-0, which is the best start in program history. The previous school record was 11-0, which was set during the 2015-16 season.
With a win, the Utes would advance to the Semifinals of the Pac-12 Men's Tennis Championship to face the winner of Arizona and Washington. For more information on the Pac-12 Tournament, click here.
