Aldarra will play as a par-71, 6,979-yard course. Washington will tee off of hole No. 10 Monday, beginning at 8:12 a.m. PT, and then again in the afternoon, beginning at 1:42 p.m. PT. The teams will all play two rounds on Monday, and then single rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday. The earliest tee time is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
"We have waited a long time for this as we were originally scheduled to host in 2020, but COVID-19 put a stop to that," said UW head coach Alan Murray. "We are extremely grateful to Aldarra for allowing us to host on their amazing, championship golf course. I think it will be a great test for some of the best teams in the country, and is a very fitting venue for what is one of the best amateur championships in the world. You only have to look at the list of the past winners to see how great a tournament this is."
Here is the six-man UW lineup for the 2022 Pac-12 Championships:
1. RJ Manke
2. Noah Woolsey
3. Teddy Lin
4. Petr Hruby
5. Taehoon Song
6. Bo Peng
"Our guys' games are in good shape," said Murray," and we will be doing everything we can to win the tournament. The 6-count-5 format over four rounds is a real test of your depth and the strength of your squad as a whole. We have a six very experienced players who all know Aldarra extremely well. We believe that home-course knowledge can be an advantage here, but against a field this strong ,we have to play well if we want to have a chance to win. Golf makes you earn it each and every single day and we are going to have to do a lot of things well as individuals and as a whole.
"It is a really exciting challenge and the opportunity to play in front of our home crowd is something that really has our guys buzzing," Murray continued. "Our staff, athletic department, and Aldarra have put a great deal into this championship and we want to put on the best championship possible."
Following the Pac-12 Championships, the Huskies will move on to NCAA Regionals. The Golf Channel will carry the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Selection Show at 1:00 p.m. PT on Wed., May 4. Regionals will be held May 15-18 and the 2022 NCAA Men's Golf Championships will be contested May 27-June 1 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
"We have three big tournaments left this season, including this one," Coach Murray said. "I believe our guys have done an amazing job of taking it one day at a time and giving their best effort each day. They know how to play golf really well and just need to play their games. The opportunity to do something really special in a program with a storied history has energized our group and they cannot wait to get underway. We look forward to an action packed 3 days of elite competition."
