EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team is back on its home courts at Amazon Park to host Portland Thursday afternoon in Eugene. First serve of the Ducks' regular-season finale is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. The team will also celebrate Senior Day in a pre-match ceremony. Oregon enters the match with a 12-16 overall record.
Thursday's pre-match senior celebration will begin at approximately 2 p.m. and recognize the careers and accomplishments of Ally Haden, Brooke Nuneviller, Carly Wallace, Savannah Siegrist, Anastasia Lima, Vivian Donovan and Madelyn LaFollette.
Last Time Out
The Ducks beat Portland—Thursday's opponent—in the third-place match of the Husky Invitational (April 17) in Seattle. Oregon swept all five courts, clinching the team victory at No. 5 pairs with a 21-13, 21-13 win by Haden and Siegrist. Overall, the Ducks posted a 3-2 weekend record at the tournament.

Ashley Schroeder and Ella Tyus were 5-0 at No. 4 pairs last weekend at the Husky Invitational. With the run in Seattle, the duo evened their record at 12-12 this season with an 8-7 mark on court four.

By the Numbers
Heading into the Ducks' regular-season finale, Nuneviller and Reagan Hope lead the team with a 14-10 record from the top of the lineup. Just behind them, Haden and Siegrist (13-8) and Alex Laita and Bea Wetton (13-11) are tied for second on the team in wins. Schroeder and Tyus round out the quartet of double-digit victories with 12.
Familiar Opponent
Thursday's match will be the third meeting this season between Oregon and Portland, and second on the Ducks' home courts. Oregon defeated Portland, 4-1, in the team's home opener (March 8) and then again just this past weekend, 5-0, at the Husky Invitational. Dating back to 2018, the Ducks have an 11-match winning streak against UP.
Milestone Victory
Oregon knocked off No. 17 Arizona at the Pac-12 North Invitational (April 9) for the program's first-ever win over a ranked opponent. With a 2-0 lead in hand, the Ducks clinched the upset with a three-set win (14-21, 21-11, 15-10) on court four by Ashley Schroeder and Ella Tyus. With the victory, Oregon also set a new program record for match wins (nine) in a single season.
Doing (class)Work!
For their standout work in the classroom, Carly Wallace and Valerie Peterson earned their way onto the UO Dean's List for the Winter 2022 quarter. Among the criteria, a student must carry at least 12 credits coupled with a term GPA of 3.75 or higher. Sixty (60!) Oregon student-athletes were honored with spots on the Dean's List.
Welcome, Coach Dillard
Jason Dillard was named head coach of Oregon Beach Volleyball in September 2021. He spent 18 years as the director and head coach of the Goldenwest Volleyball Club (GWVBC), a program that produced nearly 250 college players including 93 at the Division I level. Dillard also spent 12 seasons (2006-17) at Fullerton College with previous Division I experience at UC Riverside (2004-05).
Nuneviller Continues National Team Training
Two-time indoor All-American Brooke Nuneviller was invited to attend the USA Women's National Team Spring Training Camp (March 5-12) in Anaheim, Calif. She is one of several currently collegians invited to compete and train under the National Team coaching staff.
Crossover Ducks
The 2022 UO Beach Volleyball roster features three Ducks—Reagan Hope, Daley McClellan and Brooke Nuneviller—that are also members of the indoor team. For a second-consecutive season, Nuneviller was named to the AVCA All-America Second Team after averaging 3.96 kills per set coupled with 17 double-doubles. Hope redshirted this past indoor season and McClellan appeared in 12 matches with a season-high seven digs in a three-set win over Colorado (Oct. 31). Alex Laita and Bea Wetton started their UO careers as members of the indoor team in 2019.
What's Next?
Following Thursday's match, the Ducks will travel to Tucson, Ariz., for the second time this season for the Pac-12 Championship. The conference tournament begins Wednesday, April 27.
