Huskies Run-Rule No. 19 Oregon; Plain Picks Up Career Win No. 100

EUGENE, Ore. – No. 11 Washington picked up its 26th win of the season in a 9-0 run-rule victory over No. 19 Oregon on Friday night in five innings. The Huskies move to 26-11 on the season with a 7-6 record in Pac-12 play.
Gabbie Plain tossed five scoreless one-hit innings for her 100th career win and 12th of the season. Plain faced two batters over the minimum in the contest. The senior picked up five strikeouts over the five innings.
A one-out double by Baylee Klingler and a Madison Huskey single put runners at the corner for Kinsey Fielder in the first. Fiedler sent a single up the middle to score Klingler for the 1-0 lead.
In the fourth, Jadelyn Allchin and Rylee Holtorf reached with one-out to turn over the lineup. Sami Reynolds sent a towering home run over the right field scoreboard for the 4-0 advantage. In the next at bat, Klingler sent a solo shot over the right center wall to put the Huskies up 5-0.
With bases loaded and two outs, Huskey hit her first career grand slam in the fifth to secure Washington's run-rule victory over the Ducks, 9-0.
The Huskies return for game two of the series on Saturday with a 5 p.m. first pitch at Jane Sanders Stadium. The game will air on Pac-12 Networks.

Gabbie Plain picked up her 100th career win in the contest. Plain is 12 strikeouts away from 1000 in her career. The senior picked up her 12th win of the season and 12th complete game and seventh shutout. Plain has 42 shutouts in her career. The Harrington Park, Australia native had her third one-hit game of the season. Plain has won her last three decisions.
The Huskies hit back-to-back home runs for the first time since March 12, 2022 vs. Northern Colorado when Angie Yellen and Brooke Nelson hit two homers in-a-row in the fifth inning.
Sami Reynolds hit her first home run in Pac-12 play and the first since March 12 vs. Colorado State.
Baylee Klingler hit her 19th home run of the season in the fourth inning. Klingler also hit her 12th double of the season.
Madison Huskey hit her first career grand slam in the fifth inning.
