The Bears faced off with Washington for the second time this year, in both matchups one team lost a player from the top pair in their previous match forcing a lineup reshuffle. In the first meeting, Mima Mirkovic was hurt in Cal's prior game vs. Arizona and the Bears fell to Washington. In this meeting, Washington's Chloe Loreen was hurt in the Huskies morning match, forcing former Cal interim head coach Derek Olson to reshuffle his Washington lineup. Cal capitalized with a thorough display in defeating the Huskies, 5-0.
