Trio of Home Runs Power Huskies to 6-2 Win Over Seattle U

SEATTLE – The No. 10 Washington Huskies defeated Seattle U, 6-2, on Tuesday night at Husky Softball Stadium. Washington improves to 29-11 overall on the season.
 
Kelley Lynch got the start in the circle for the Dawgs. Lynch tossed four innings, while allowing only one hit and one run with seven strikeouts on her way to her fifth win of the season. Pat Moore came on in relief and tossed three innings for her first save on the year.
 
Jadelyn Allchin got the Huskies on the board in the first inning on a two-out two-run home run that scored Baylee Klingler.
 
Klingler added insurance runs on a two-run home run of her own in the third for the 4-0 lead.
 
Seattle U brought in its first run of the contest in the fourth inning on a solo homer by Kalyn Hill, cutting the Huskies' lead to three.
 
Washington responded in bottom half of the inning after Jenn Cummings hit her fifth double of the season with two outs. Megan Vandegrift came into pinch run for Cummings. SilentRain Espinoza sent her second home run of the season out to right center field for the 6-1 advantage.
 
The Redhawks added a run in the sixth on an RBI single by Brooke Midler, bringing the score to its eventual final of 6-2.
 
The Huskies return for a three-game vs. No. 21 Stanford, Friday through Sunday. All three games will air on the Washington live stream.
