A Parade of Personal-Bests Highlight Senior Day at Desert Heat

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field performed well at their third home meet of the season to honor the senior athletes of the track team. Shannon Meisberger and Alexa Porpaczy led the way with each winning their own events.

Highlights

Jakob Chamberlin started off the meet for the Cats with a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 63.20m (207'4"). Zach Landa launched a huge PR in the men's shot put to place sixth with a mark of 17.78m (53'4")

Sam Noennig put up two top-five performances at the Desert Heat Classic. In the discus, she placed fourth with a mark of 53.95m (177'0") while also finishing second in the shot put with a 17.47m throw (57'-3.75"). Mackenna Orie threw well in the shot put with a fifth-place finish with a throw of 16.01m (52'-6.5").

The high jump squad continued to dominate with three Cats in the top-three. Alexa Porpaczy won the event with a 1.78m jump with Lillian Lowe and Diana Ramos tying for third.

Katie Daily followed suit by tying for second in the women's pole vault with a 3.85m vault. Tanner Kippes logged a huge PR in the pole vault with a sixth-place finish on a vault of 5.20m.

Jenica Bosko put up the eight-best mark in school history in the long jump with a second-place PR mark of 6.10m (20'-0.25"). Three men's long jumpers landed in the top-seven with Reinaldo Rodrigues jumping a third-place mark of 7.57m followed by Razeen Khaldun tying his PR in sixth and Jacorey Jones jumping a season-best to place seventh.

Talie Bonds began the running events for the Cats with a second-place finish in the 100m hurdles with a 13.25. Freshman Zachary Extine placed fourth with a new PR of 14.39 in the 110m hurdles.
Shannon Meisberger brought home another event win with a time of 57.15 in the 400m hurdles. Anna Foreman ran in the 400m dash to place fourth with a time of 54.17.

Neysia Howard added to the PR parade with an excellent time in the 100m dash, placing fifth with an 11.51. Trayvion White-Austin placed within the top-five of the 100m dash with a fourth-place time of 10.44 before earning his own PR in the 200m dash with another fourth-place time of 20.85.

Alisa Lyesina and Grace Driskill showed out in the 1500m run with third and fourth place finishes respectively. Lyesina ran a 4:26.90 with Driskill earning a PR of 4:27.00.

The women's 4x400m relay team put up a season-best featuring Jenica Bosko, Anna Foreman, Dior Asemota, and Shannon Meisberger, who finished with a second-place time of 3:36.73.

The Cats will return in two weeks for the Pac-12 Championships on Thursday, May. 12 in Eugene, Ore. The meet will take place from that Thursday to Saturday, May 14.
