UCLA Rowing Competes at Longhorn Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – The UCLA women's rowing program competed in four races against four ranked opponents at the Longhorn Invitational on Saturday morning at Walter E. Long Lake.
 
The Bruins finished in fifth place in each morning race.
 
UCLA's varsity eight crew posted a final time of 6:32.196, competing against No. 1-ranked Texas, No. 10-ranked Ohio State, No. 14-ranked Virginia and No. 16-ranked Southern Methodist (SMU). Texas won the race with a time of 6:10.269, followed by Ohio State (6:22.353), SMU (6:22.353), Virginia (6:28.918) and UCLA.
 
The Bruins' second varsity eight boat registered a time of 6:50.687. Texas finished in first place with a time of 6:21.431, followed in order by SMU (6:29.672), Ohio State (6:30.891), Virginia (6:32.750) and UCLA.
 
Texas and Ohio State each finished first and second in the two varsity four races. UCLA's varsity four crew recorded a final time of 7:38.346, while the Bruins' second varsity four crew finished its race in 7:53.243.
 
UCLA will return to action at the Pac-12 Championships on Sunday, May 15. This season's Pac-12 Championships will take place at Dexter Lake in Lane County, in Oregon. The racing schedule and start times will be released closer to the date of the Pac-12 Championships.
