Washington Shuts Out Stanford In 2-0 Win

SEATTLE – The No. 10 Washington Huskies picked up their fourth straight series win after a 2-0 victory over No. 21 Stanford on Saturday afternoon.
 
Kelley Lynch tossed 4.2 innings in the contest with five strikeouts and five hits allowed to earn her sixth win of the season. Pat Moore came on and tossed the final 2.1 frames with a season-high six strikeouts for her second save of the year.
 
Olivia Johnson got the Huskies on the board in the second inning with a solo home run out to left field for the 1-0 lead.
 
In the third, Stanford's Sydnee Huff hit a two-out triple, but the Lynch and Washington defense was able to retire the final batter to end the inning.
 
Madison Huskey kept her hot bat going in the fifth with an RBI single that scored Sami Reynolds for the 2-0 advantage.
 
The Huskies and Cardinal meet for the series finale on Sunday with a 12 p.m. first pitch.

GAME TWO NOTES
 
The Huskies finished the month of April with an 11-1 overall record. Washington has also won its last four series.
 
In the last six games, Washington has recorded four shutouts.
 
Olivia Johnson hit her first home run since April 1 at Arizona in the second inning of the today's game.
