Fuenmayor, Lake Advance At U.S. Open Local Qualifier

WEST LINN, Ore. – Oregon State men's golfers Mateo Fuenmayor and Jackson Lake have advanced past the one-day U.S. Open qualifier at the par-72 Oregon Golf Club.
 
The two have now both qualified for the U.S. Open Sectionals, scheduled for June 6 and 36 holes at multiple sites.
 
Fuenmayor advanced after finishing with a 1-under 71 in 18 holes of play on Monday. He finished tied for second.

Lake, meanwhile, advanced after finishing with a 1-over 73. He ended the one-day event tied for fourth.
 
The top seven finishers at Monday's event advanced to the sectionals. The Beavers may still have a third advance as former OSU student-athlete Spencer Tibbits is in a playoff that will start at 8 a.m. PT on Tuesday. He finished tied for sixth Monday at 2-over 74.
