SEATTLE -- With one week to go before the Pac-12 Championships, a group of Husky distance runners will tune up and chase some fast times at the Sound Running Track Meet, a distance-only event at JSerra High School in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. The meet will start a 5:20 p.m. this Friday evening, and finish with a men's 10k that starts at 8:35 p.m.

Carley Thomas is the lone representative for the women, where she will run the 800-meters, while the men's group is sending eight. Sam Affolder, Brian Fay, Isaac Green, Nathan Green, Luke Houser, Kieran Lumb, Ryan Renken, and Joe Waskom are on the road for the men.

The meet will not count for NCAA qualifying, so it's purely a chance to chase personal-bests and work on tactics against some outstanding fields.

There is also a large contingent of former Husky stars in the field. 2020 Tokyo Olympians Sam Tanner and Izzi Batt-Doyle are among the entries, as are UW products Katie Rainsberger, Mick Stanovsek, Izaic Yorks, and Julius Diehr. Volunteer assistant Sam Prakel is also in the field.
