Huskies Win Series Finale at Utah, 5-1

SALT LAKE CITY – The No. 9 Huskies took game three of the series at Utah, 5-1 on Sunday afternoon. Washington improves 34-13 on the season and 13-8 in Pac-12 play.
Gabbie Plain got the start in the circle and tossed six innings, while allowing one run with five strikeouts.
The Huskies struck first in the first inning on a Sami Reynolds RBI double that drove in Madison Huskey for the 1-0 advantage.
Utah responded in the bottom of the second on a solo home run by Halle Morris to tie the game.
In the top of the fifth, when Jenn Cummings ledoff the inning with a double to turn over the lineup for Baylee Klingler. Klingler hit her 22nd home run of the season to make it a two-run game at 3-1.
Klingler drew a leadoff walk in the top of the seventh, while Huskey reached on a fielder's choice sacrifice bunt to put runners on first and second with no outs. Both runners were able to advance on a sac bunt by Reynolds. Jadelyn Allchin sent a single up the middle to drive in a run. In the next at bat, Kelley Lynch came up to pinch hit and hit a single out to right for the second run of the inning.
Moore came in during the bottom of the seventh and was able to record the final three outs to secure the win, 5-1.
The Huskies close out the regular season at home with a three game series vs. No. 12 Arizona State. All games will air on Pac-12 Networks.

Baylee Klingler extended her Pac-12 leading home run number to 22 on the season. Klingler has also hit safely in five straight games.
Jenn Cummings is on a five-game hitting streak.
