Beavers Close Out Regular Season Hosting Utah

• Oregon State welcomes Utah for its final three-game series of the regular season. First pitch between the Beavers and Utes is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 12. Game two will be played at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday's game three Senior Day is slated to begin at 12 p.m. PT. All games will be available on OSU's live stream.

• The Utes hold a 26-25 overall record with a 8-13 conference record, heading into the weekend. Utah is hitting .292 as a team with 37 home runs, 55 doubles and seven triples, averaging 4.78 runs per game and are coming off a weekend win over Washington.
• Utah is fourth in the Pac-12 in hits (385) and sits tied for sixth overall with California. The Utes are led by Haley Denning's 58 hits with an impressive 50 runs batted in to go along with a .367 batting average.
• Ellessa Bonstrom boasts a team-best .380 batting average, 11 home runs and 42 runs scored with 42 RBIs, which is second on the squad.
• Sophie Jacquez has proven to be the double queen for Utah, knocking 12 on the season in 120 appearances with a .308 average.
• In 122 and 2/3 innings, Sydney Sandez has eight victories with a 2.68 ERA to lead the Utah pitching staff. Shi Smith (9-7) and Mariah Lopez (7-5) have combined for the majority of the other wins in the circle.

• One game separates the all-time series between Utah and Oregon State. The Utes lead the series 21-22 while the Beavers are 11-13 under head coach Laura Berg. OSU has won six of the last 10 matchups while the two have split the last six appearances.
• The Beavers have won the last two weekend series in Corvallis but haven't swept a series over Utah. During the 2019 campaign, the Orange & Black took the series on the final day with a 4-2 victory at home.
• Last year, Oregon State took two of four in Salt Lake after dropping the series opener by a score of 3-1.

• After the bye week, the Beavers look to get out of their slump this weekend after suffering a series sweep at rival No. 22 Oregon last time out.  
• Oregon State dropped to 31-18 overall and 7-14 in conference play. Despite the losing streak, the Beavers have lost by just two runs or less in eight of their last nine games.  
• As a team, the Beavers hold a .280 batting average with 48 home runs from 10 different Beavers. Sophomore Grace Messmer collected her sixth bomb at Oregon during game two of the series. Oregon State averages 4.94 runs per game led by freshman Eliana Gottlieb's 34 runs scored.
• Freshman Kiki Escobar is third in the conference with 65 hits with a .363 batting average. She has started in all 49 games and has a team-best ten doubles and nine stolen bases.
•Junior Frankie Hammoude leads the Beavs with 12 home runs, totaling 40 in her career. Hammoude needs just two more to tie Cambria Miranda for second all-time in the Beaver record books for career bombs. Tarrah Beyster is the home run leader with 52.
• Senior Mariah Mazon leads the Oregon State pitching staff with 12 wins and a save in the circle. Mazon holds a team-best 2.05 ERA in 136 innings pitched to go along with 14 complete games thrown. Freshman Sarah Haendiges has made a name for herself during her first year with the Orange & Black, pitching 112 innings with a 2.01 ERA, 10 victories, one save and 117 strikeouts.

• Senior Mariah Mazon has marched her way into the Oregon State softball history book during her time in Corvallis. She has been a force both on the mound and behind the plate for the Orange & Black.
• Mazon currently is No 20 in strikeout-to-walk ratio amongst the nation this season.
• The three-time All-Pac-12 player has been named conference player of the week on four different occasions during her career, including this season back on March 9 after a record-breaking performance at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
• The 2020 Softball America All-American Third Team honoree holds a .318 career batting average with 106 hits, 15 home runs, 66 runs batted in and 56 runs scored. In the circle, Mazon has appeared in 150 games.
• In the Oregon State record books, Mazon is second in strikeouts (812), third in saves (11) and complete games (88), fourth in innings pitched (818), fifth with 65 wins and her 20 complete game shutouts puts her in seventh.
