Men's Hoops Welcomes Four Newcomers in Spring

May 10, 2022

The Sun Devil men's basketball team -- who has enjoyed recent success with transfers like Shannon Evans, Zylan Cheatham, Rob Edward and Mickey Mitchell to name a few -- has added four in the spring signing period.

The Sun Devils will add twins Devan (Auburn) and Desmond Cambridge (Nevada), Warren Washington (Nevada) and Frankie Collins (Michigan).

The 6-6 Devan Cambridge averaged 5.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists for Auburn last season. Last season, the 6-foot-4 two-time All-Mountain West third-team selection Desmond Cambridge averaged 16.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Washington, a seven-footer listed at 225 pounds, has two years of eligibility remaining, as he began his career at Oregon State prior to joining Nevada in 2019. He played 23.8 minutes per game while adding 10.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per tilt and shot .732 from the free throw line.

Collins, a four-star prospect and consensus top-50 recruit in the class of 2021, averaged 2.8 points and 1.4 assists in 11 minutes per game with Michigan last year. He started in the Wolverines' NCAA Tournament first-round win over Colorado State, as he notched 14 points, six rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes. He played 30 minutes in 11th-seeded Michigan's second-round upset of third-seeded Tennessee.
