Moran Earns Bronze in Eugene, 5 Going to Finals

EUGENE, Oregon - Arizona State track and field is off to a hot start at the Pac-12 Championships despite a downpour on day one in Eugene, Oregon. Shelby Moran earned her second Pac-12 hammer bronze medal (66.27m/217-05), and the sprinters group celebrated five qualifying marks across four events, including Justin Robinson who ran the fastest time in the 200m dash (20.70). Vincent Mauri qualified for the 1500m finals with his fifth place heat one finish (3:44.10), and Katie Eidem had a pair of top-3 finishes in her first four heptathlon events (100H/3rd/13.94 & 200m/2nd/24.85). She's sitting seventh overall with 3,220 points. ASU kicks off Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the heptathlon long jump. Field events for ASU start at 3:30 p.m. (long jump) and ASU's runners get going at 4:00 p.m. in the 100 hurdles.
