Smith, McKeon Named CoSIDA Academic All-District
PULLMAN, Wash. (May 12, 2022) – Washington State infielders Jack Smith and Jacob McKeon were both named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.
McKeon was named as the designated hitter and Smith as an infielder, WSU's first Academic All-District selections since pitcher A.J. Block earned the honor in 2020.
Smith is in his fifth season at WSU and is a three-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection, earned his bachelor's degree in finance last spring and currently owns a 4.00 GPA while working on his master's in business administration. The Mercer Island, Wash. native enters the weekend second in the Pac-12 Conference in hitting (.373), tied for eighth in doubles (15) along with team-high in RBI (33) and multiple-hit games (18).
McKeon owns a 3.98 GPA while majoring in kinesiology and earned Pac-12 Conference Academic Honor Roll accolades last season. The Phoenix native enters the weekend leading the team in extra-base hits (18), home runs (6) and slugging pct. (.567), and second in doubles (11) and RBI (29).
