Jones Tabbed National, Pac-12 Player of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Brock Jones has been named a Collegiate Baseball Newspaper National Player of the Week in addition to capturing Pac-12 Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

Jones homered in all four games last week, and posted multiple hits in every contest. The native of Fresno, Calif. finished the four-game week batting .625 (10 for 16) with 11 runs scored, four homers and 10 RBIs. He reached at a .700 clip and slugged 1.375. Included in the week was a .667 average (8 for 12) with eight runs scored, three homers and eight RBIs in Stanford's sweep of USC to win the Pac-12 title.

With four homers last week, Jones is now ranked second in the Pac-12 with 16 home runs - trailing only teammate Carter Graham (19). Jones has homered in five straight games, and six of his last seven, and owns seven home runs in his last seven games overall. In a larger sample, Jones has hit 11 home runs in his last 15 games and has hit safely in 19 of his last 21 games overall (13 home runs over the 21 games).

The Pac-12 weekly honor is the first of Jones' career, while this marks the second national selection from Collegiate Baseball (March 8, 2021).

Stanford, which has won 12 straight games for the first time since 1999, is the No. 1 seed in this week's Pac-12 Baseball Tournament. The Cardinal will open play against Arizona State on Wednesday.
