Eight USC Women’s Water Polo Players Earn MPSF All-Academic Accolades
USC women's water polo has had eight Trojans secure MPSF All-Academic Scholar Athlete status for 2022, led by three-time honorees Grace Tehaney and Bayley Weber. A second round of accolades also go to Claire Haas, Carolyne Stern and Sophia Lucas, while Paige Hauschild, Julia Janov and Tilly Kearns have picked up their first spots on the honor roll.
All eight Trojans hold cumulative GPAs of 3.0 or higher and competed in at least 50 percent of USC's competition during the Trojans' run to the NCAA final. Seven of these 2022 Scholar Athletes will return next season, with Lucas — a business administration major with a 3.26 GPA — the only departing member of this group.
All eight Trojans were instrumental in USC's successful 2022 season. Kearns, Weber, Hauschild and Tehaney were USC's top scorers on the year, and all four earned All-MPSF honors in 2022. USC's starting goalie, Stern had a career-high 13 saves in the NCAA title match. Haas, Janov and Lucas also all scored goals during the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
