USC Rowing Completes Second Day of NCAA Championship

SARASOTA, FLA. The No. 18 ranked USC women's rowing team completed the second day of competition at the 2022 NCAA Championships at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. on Saturday 28, May 28. Today's results secured spots in tomorrow's final races: the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight will race in their respective C Finals tomorrow, while the Varsity Four will race in the B Final.
 
"As a team, we learned a lot of lessons today," said head coach Josh Adam. "The stage has been set for the finals. Now we are ready for good sleep and a great race tomorrow!"

In the C/D Semifinal, the USC Varsity Eight was neck and neck with Rutgers and Duke — all three teams battling for first. The Women of Troy finished in third place with a time of 06:26.283. The Trojans were only inches behind Duke as the Blue Devils clocked in at 06:25.839. Third place puts the Trojans in tomorrow's C Final. 
 
The Second Varsity Eight similarly had a strong race in their C/D Semifinal. The Trojans came out of the start with urgency and kept up their speed until crossing the finish line. USC finished in third place with a time of 06: 53.501, just a half of a second behind Oregon State to secure its place in tomorrow's C Final.  
 
The USC Varsity Four faced tough competition during the A/B Semifinal as every team in the race was ranked in the top ten in the CRCA Pocock Poll. USC finished in sixth place with a time of 07:29.257 to advance to tomorrow's  B Final.
