Women's Rowing Advances all Three Boats to C Final of NCAA Championship

SARASOTA, Fla. – All three Oregon State boats have advanced to their respective C Finals, as the Beavers completed the second day of NCAA Championships Saturday morning in Sarasota, Fla.
 
The OSU Varsity 8 placed first in its semi-final, clocking a time of 6:25.25 – less than one second ahead of second-place Syracuse. The Beavs narrowly trailed the Orange at the 500 meter mark, but were able to pull ahead by the 1000m of the race to claim the tight victory. The Oregon State V8 will take on Gonzaga, Duke, Rutgers, Syracuse, USC in the C Final of the competition at 6:12 a.m. PT on Sunday. The six boat final will be a battle as teams compete for the 13th -18th placement in the national championship.  
 
The Oregon State Second Varsity 8 claimed second place in their semi-final holding off USC and maintaining contact with Rutgers for more than half the race to finish with a time of 6:48.05. The 2V8 will race Duke, Syracuse, Boston University, Rutgers and USC in the C Final at 5:48 a.m. PT on Sunday.
 
The Varsity 4 semi-final wrapped up the day for the Beavers. Following a lightning delay, the Oregon State boat was able to come away with a second-place finish in its semifinal and stopping the clock at 7:33.15. The V4 will start the racing on Sunday as they take on Duke, SMU, Syracuse, Penn & Gonzaga in the C Final at 5:24 a.m. PT.
