Arizona Earns 41st NCAA Tournament Appearance, Selected to Coral Gables Regional
TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Wildcats heard their name called in the NCAA Selection Show on Monday morning and will begin their 2022 postseason journey in the Coral Gables Regional. There they will face host Miami (FL), Ole Miss, and Canisius.
In their first season under head coach Chip Hale, Arizona put together an at-large resume that included a 16-14 record in Pac-12 play, five wins against Top 5 RPI teams, the fourth-most Top 100 RPI wins in the nation, and more. Arizona's selection marks the 41st NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, the sixth most in the nation.
The Wildcats will open play in the Coral Gables regional against Ole Miss on Friday, June 3 at 4:00 p.m. MST. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
Arizona finished the regular season with a record of 37-23 and a 16-14 mark in the Pac-12. Consensus Preseason All-American and Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist Daniel Susac leads one of the most potent offensive attacks in the nation. The Wildcats produced 10+ runs 11 times and ranked among the top five teams in the Pac-12 in nearly every offensive category.
