If you were to randomly chip a golf ball into the 2022 U.S. Women's open clubhouse at Pine Needles, chances are decent that you would strike a Trojan.

That's because there are a whopping 10 Trojans who will be competing at this week's 77th playing of the championship at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C., including nine former All-Americans and one incoming freshman.

USC's 10 golfers in the 156-woman field includes, alphabetically, Alyaa Abdulghany, Tiffany Chan, Allisen Corpuz, Muni He, Annie Park, Catherine Park, Sophia Popov, Robynn Ree, Gabriela Ruffels and Lizette Salas. Abdulghany and Catherine Park, who will start her career at USC this Fall, are making their U.S. Open debuts.

Abdulgany, Annie and Catherine Park, Corpuz, Ruffels, Chan, He and Ree all earned their tee times via U.S. Women's Open Qualifying sites. Salas and Popov are there thanks to their top 75 standing in the Rolex rankings.

Corpuz, He, Annie Park, Popov, Ree, Chan and Salas are all currently playing on the LPGA Tour while Abdulghany and Ruffels are on the Epson Tour.

Ree and He are paired together in the first and second rounds, as are Corpuz and Park.

Popov is the only Trojan to have won a major women's championship, claiming the 2020 Women's British Open.

Salas is making her impressive 13th appearance at the event and, even more impressively, has made the cut in 10 of 12 starts, including finishing with five top 20s.

Ruffels, the 2019 U.S. Amateur champion who was runner-up in 2020, tied for 13th in her second appearance at the U.S. Open in 2020.
