Cook Named To USA Staff For U19 Pan Am Cup
SEATTLE -- Husky Head Coach Keegan Cook has signed up for another stint with USA Volleyball, joining the coaching staff for the 2022 Girls U19 National Team. Cook will be on hand for the team's training from July 6-15 in Tulsa, Okla. and then continue to coach the squad during the 2022 U19 Pan Am Cup from July 18-23, also in Tulsa.
Jamie Morrison, a member of three U.S. Olympic medal-winning coaching staffs, will serve as the team's head coach. Cook will be one of two assistant coaches, along with Michelle Chatman-Smith.
Cook will begin his eighth season at Washington this fall. He has led the Huskies to four Pac-12 Championships, including the past two titles, and the 2020 Final Four with NCAA round of 16 appearances in six of seven seasons. Cook has coached twelve players to a combined 18 AVCA All-America honors in his seven seasons at Washington.
This is the fourth time Cook has been tabbed for coaching duties with USA Volleyball. In 2016, he was the head coach for the U.S. Collegiate Women's National Team for its tour of China, and in the summer of 2018 Cook led the U.S. Junior Women's National Team to compete in the NORCECA Championships in Mexico. He was tabbed to lead the U.S. Women's Youth National Team at the NORCECA Continental Championships in 2020, which was canceled due to the pandemic.
