Huskies Headed Abroad To Scotland

SEATTLE – In 27 days, the UW men's soccer team embarks on an 10-day tour of Scotland. The trip will take them around the country, while being able to see some of the best soccer stadiums and visit seven cities.
 
The Huskies will set out on June 28 and will be on the streets of Scotland by June 29, with Glasgow being the first stop. From Glasgow, the Dawgs will travel to Stirling, Aberdeen, Nairn, Dundee, St. Andrew's and Edinburgh, before returning to the U.S. on July 9.
 
During the trip, the Huskies are slated to play six games against a mixture of professional, semi-professional, senior and local teams.
 
The last time Washington went abroad was in 2018 when they represented the United States in the International University Sports Federation (FISU) American Games in São Paulo, Brazil.
 
In addition, the team has been taking a class on the history of Scotland this quarter, taught by Professor Bob Stacey, former Dean of the University of Washington College of Arts and Sciences.
 
June 28-29 | Departure Day and Glasgow
The Huskies head out from SeaTac to Edinburgh. Once in Scotland, travel to Glasgow and do a stadium tour of Celtic Stadium and a training session at Benburb FC.
 
June 30 | Glasgow
Rangers Stadium tour and games vs. Ayr United and First Point USA.
 
July 1 | Stirling and Aberdeen
Sightseeing day and training session at Aberdeen Training Centre.
 
July 2 | Nairn
Game vs. Nairn County and travel back to hotel via Loch Ness.
 
July 3 | Dunnottar and Aberdeen
Sightseeing day and training session at Aberdeen Training Centre.
 
July 4 | Aberdeen
Training session and game vs. Aberdeen.
 
July 5 | Aberdeen
Sightseeing day and training session.
 
July 6 | Dundee
Transfer from Aberdeen to Dundee with free time in Dundee. Game vs. Forfar Athletic.
 
July 7 | St. Andrews
Free time, sightseeing and lunch in St. Andrews. Final game of trip vs. Dundee United.
 
July 8 | Edinburg
Transfer to Edinburg to visit Edinburgh Castle with free time and sightseeing.
 
July 9 | Back home
Washington heads back to Seattle from Edinburgh.
