BERKELEY – California field hockey midfielder Megan Connors was one of 20 players named to the U.S. under-21 women's national team that will compete in the Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament in Ireland. The tournament will take place from June 19-26 at the Hockey Centre in Dublin.
Head coach Tracey Paul will lead the United States into the opener against the Netherlands on June 19, with the U-21s then playing Ukraine on June 20, India on June 23 and Ireland on June 25 in a round-robin event. The final, third-place game and fifth-place match are slated for June 26.
Connors previously trained with the U-21 USWNT in February in Chula Vista.
During the fall 2021 college season, the San Diego product played in 16 games and collected four goals, four assists and 12 points for the Golden Bears. Connors scored goals in both of Cal's games of the America East Tournament and was chosen to the AE All-Tournament team. An economics major, she was one of 24 Bears named to the 2021 NFHCA Academic Squad and was one of 18 Bears selected to the Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll.
