CONSTANTA, Romania—Colorado guard Frida Formann is back in Europe donning the red and white of her home country of Denmark in this weekend's FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup 2022 qualifiers.
Denmark is in Pool C and will play Hungary and Great Britain. 12 teams will participate across four different pools in the Romanian qualifier. Qualifiers are also taking place in Israel and Cyprus.
This year's 3x3 Europe Cup on September 9-11, 2022, will be played in Graz, Austria.
The qualifier will be played round-robin style in four pools, followed by one elimination round starting with the quarterfinals. The winners of the women's semi-finals will qualify for the Europe Cup and the two semi-final losers will play one additional game with the winner earning qualification.
The best fourth team in the women's tournament (comparing the Romania and Israel qualifiers) will also earn a ticket to Graz.
Every year each European national federation is invited to register a team. In 2022, a record 40 national federations registered a total of 76 teams. Looking at the Qualifiers, eight women's and six men's teams will get their ticket to Graz at the Qualifiers.
Denmark will get started against Hungary at 12:50 a.m. MT this morning (9:50 a.m UTC+2). They will play Great Britain at 2:10 a.m. MT (11:10 a.m. UTC+2). All games will be live-streamed on the FIBA3x3 Youtube channel.
