11 Make MPSF All-Academic Team

Tempe, Ariz. – The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced the 2022 Women's Water Polo All-Academic team, where 11 Sun Devils received the honor after being recognized for their work in the classroom this year. Overall, the team had a 3.56 semester GPA in the Spring to bring their cumulative average up to a 3.50. 

Each of the graduating seniors made their way on the list as Amira Van Buren led the charge with her fourth career honor, while Bori Kekesi and Blaire McDowell picked up their third All-Academic team honor. Ali Cameron, Emma Fraser, Lara Kiss, and Itzahiana Baca added their second academic honor to their resumes while Abby Begg, Tarah Schaffer, Luca Petovary, and Alba Olivé Martí are on this list for the first time in their careers. 

The 11 representing the maroon and gold is just one shy of the program's All-Academic Team high when 12 were named from Arizona State last season. This brings the program total up to 117 Sun Devils all-time on the MPSF All-Academic Team.

The criteria for selection to the MPSF All-Academic team include:
1. 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average.
2. Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically.
3. Student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received.
