LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's basketball team will face Maryland in a home-and-home series during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, it was announced on Wednesday.

The Bruins will travel to face Maryland at the Xfinity Center (College Park, Md.) on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Maryland will return to play UCLA in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom the following season, on Dec. 22, 2023.

"Maryland has established a great basketball program and national brand," said Mick Cronin, The Michael Price Family UCLA Men's Head Basketball Coach. "I've known their new head coach, Kevin Willard, for a long time and we're very good friends. That helped in making this matchup quickly come together. We are always trying to find attractive matchups like this one, and this game will be a good barometer for our team as we get ready for Pac-12 play. It's also a great opportunity for UCLA alumni and fans on the East Coast to see the Bruins in person. We look forward to having Maryland in Pauley Pavilion in December of 2023."

Game time and television information for UCLA's game at Maryland on Dec. 14 will be released at a later date.

This will mark the ninth meeting in the all-time series between UCLA and Maryland, with the Bruins having tallied a 6-2 record against the Terrapins. The two schools first faced off during the 1973-74 season. Most recently, UCLA defeated Maryland, 71-59, in the semifinals of the CBE Classic in Kansas City, Mo., on Nov. 19, 2007.

UCLA has twice hosted Maryland in Pauley Pavilion (Dec. 1973, Dec. 1981) and has twice played at Maryland's home arena (Cole Field House in Dec. 1974 and Dec. 1982). The past four matchups in the all-time series have taken place at neutral sites.
