EUGENE, Ore. – Utah track & field sophomore Josefine Eriksen concluded her outdoor season Thursday evening in the semifinals of the 800m race at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships inside the reimagined Hayward Field.
The Utah sophomore kept pace with the pack through the first lap before the leaders of heat three hit the afterburners to take the top-four times. Eriksen concluded her season with a time of 2:09.57, which garnered her honorable mention All-America accolades.
Eriksen became the 14th Women of Utah to earn All-America honors (21st outdoor All-American) and first sprinter since Rosalie Waller did the same in 2014 – coincidentally in the 800m as well. Eriksen also recently broke Waller's 800m record at the NCAA West Regionals.
Cara Woolnough, who was recently named the NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track & Field Elite 90 recipient, will close out the 2021-22 athletics season Saturday, June 11, for the Women of Utah in the 5000m race at 5:25 p.m. (MT) / 4:25 p.m. (PT) local. Live coverage on Championships Saturday begins at 2:30 p.m. (MT) / 1:30 p.m. (PT) local on ESPN and streamed live on ESPN.com/Watch as well as the ESPN App.
