GREENSBORO, N.C. – California outfielder Dylan Beavers was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division I West All-Region first team for the second consecutive season on Wednesday.
Beavers was one of three outfielders voted onto the 16-man west all-region first team, joining Pac-12 Conference counterparts Brock Jones (Stanford) and Jacob Melton (Oregon State). As an all-region first team selection, Beavers is automatically nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors; the ABCA/Rawlings All-America teams will be announced on Friday.
Beavers slashed .291/.426/.634 with 17 home runs and 50 runs batted in while starting all 56 games in right field during a standout junior season in Berkeley. The decorated slugger was selected to the All-Pac-12 first team for the second year in a row as he maintained his status as one of the top hitters in the country.
The Paso Robles, California, native totaled 62 hits, 36 of which went for extra bases, drew 51 walks and reached base safely in 51 of 56 games this spring. With the 2022 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft just one month away (July 17-19), Beavers is rated as the No. 21-ranked draft prospect according to MLB.com.
The eight ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region teams are voted on by ABCA members and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division I All-America Committee. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-America teams will be announced the morning of Friday, June 17 prior to the start of the 2022 NCAA Division I College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
