The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) named UCLA sophomore right-hander Max Rajcic to the ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region Team on Wednesday.

Rajcic was one of just four starting pitchers named to the Second Team by the ABCA. It's the second postseason award this year for Rajcic, who was also named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team for the second time in his career.

The Fullerton, Calif. native went 8-5 this season with a 3.28 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 85 innings. He opened the year as the Saturday starter, but moved into the Friday role down the stretch. Rajcic ended the year among the top-five in the Pac-12 in a slew of statistics, including wins (third), strikeouts (third), WHIP (1.09, third), ERA (fourth), and opposing batting average (.222, fourth).

Rajcic won the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week Award twice in the month of May alone, highlighted by a start against Washington State on May 13 in which he struck out a career-high 14 while pitching the first eight frames of a combined one-hitter. In that outing, he became the first Bruin coached by John Savage to register at least 14 strikeouts without issuing a walk in a game.

In a seven-start span from Apr. 2 to May 13, Rajcic struck out 59 batters while yielding just two walks. Overall, he allowed three earned runs or fewer in 13 of his 15 starts, and struck out a batter per inning or better in 12 of 15 outings.
