Schultz Going International with USA Wrestling
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - Cohlton Schultz is back on international duty this week with USA Wrestling. The NCAA heavyweight runner up is one of 16 across the USA's Greco-Roman and women's freestyle disciplines competing in the Matteo Pellicone ranking series event in Rome, Italy, June 22-25. This event will help determine seeds for the 2022 Senior World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, Sept. 10-18. Of the U.S.'s 16-person travel party, Schultz is one of eight U.S. Senior World Team members. The action will stream live on FloWrestling. Sun Devil Wrestling athletic trainer Jessica Battilochi is also on the trip as one of two medical officials.

The 2022 Greco-Roman World Team members who are competing are:
- 2020 Olympians Ildar Hafizov (60 kg) and Alejandro Sancho (67 kg)
- 2016 Olympian Jesse Thielke (63 kg)
- Past World Team members Max Nowry (55 kg), Kamal Bey (77 kg), Alan Vera (87 kg) and Cohlton Schultz (130 kg).
- Abigail Nette (59kg) is the lone Women's World Team Member traveling. She won last year's Matteo Pellicone Ranking Event
Schultz is coming off a sweep at the Stillwater Final X tournament where he defeated Tanner Farmer in back-to-back 5-1 and 5-2 decisions on June 3. The wins put Schultz on the Senior World Team for the second consecutive year. Schultz went undefeated in all matches leading up to his bouts with Farmer, including sweeping the U.S. Open Championships in Las Vegas May 1 before getting two wins at the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament May 21-22.
