Jorinde van Klinken has been absolutely dominant in just two years at Arizona State. The six-time All-American has three NCAA titles, a program record, is a semi-finalist for The Bowerman for the second straight season, was a Tokyo 2020 Olympian, and went undefeated in the discus over two years (14-0).
Van Klinken claims her inaugural first team Academic All-America award after making the second team in 2021. The graduate student concluded her two-year outdoor ASU track and field career by defending her discus title at the NCAA Division I championships June 11 in Eugene, Oregon. She won the Pac-12 women's Field Athlete of the Year award following both the 2021 and 2022 outdoor seasons; she won both the shot put and the discus at the 2022 Pac-12 championships after claiming gold in the discus in the 2021 conference championships; she won the 2022 NCAA indoor shot title and followed that by winning the 2022 NCAA discus title; she earned silver in this year's shot put final; and she holds the program discus record.
