Three Bears In Action On Day Seven

Robin Hanson helped Sweden to a 10th-place finish in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay Friday at the FINA World Championships.

BUDAPEST, Hungary – Three Golden Bears were in action but did not advance through the preliminaries of two events on the seventh day of the 2022 FINA World Championships in Duna Arena on Friday.
 
California graduates Hugo González ('22, Spain) and Zheng Quah ('20, Singapore) placed 19th and 26th in the 50-meter backstroke prelims with respective times of 25.26 and 25.79. Later in the prelims session, rising sophomore Robin Hanson helped lead Sweden to a 10th-place finish (3:29.03) in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay.
 
The swims concluded Quah and Hanson's schedules in Budapest, while González is expected to swim for Spain in the 4x100m men's medley relay on Saturday.

Prelims for the pool competitions will begin daily from June 18-25 at 12 a.m. PT and will be streamed on FINA.org. Finals will be broadcasted on Olympic Channel beginning at 9 a.m. PT daily.
